Each year our family get together for 3 days of golf and excessive drinking. This years ‘family golf trip’ took place over the Ryder cup weekend and proved to be my best yet. Not only did I come painfully close to winning the whole thing (out of 12 players – 1 point from the leader), I played some consistent golf, scoring 38 points the first round and 40 the second. To top it all off I won the longest drive, outdriving two pro golfers who played! The drive was in part due to a new driver that had its first outing, the Taylormade R9 driver. I’ve managed to track it down at close to half price from Golf Gear Direct it was £329.00 but in the sale you’ll Save: £160.00 at the clearance price of £169.00.
The Taylor Made R9 Driver is available in Mens right hand and mens left hand specifications. By altering the loft, lie, face angle at address and the center of gravity on the driver you can promote up to a 75 yard difference in your normal shot pattern.
In short this driver is going to be remembered by me as the one that won me a golf umbrella and proved that amateurs can sometimes get the better of pro’s!

The latest addition to the R9 range from Taylormade, the “Supertri”, is lighter, more powerful and more forgiving than the previous models, it is also the first 460CC driver they have released which utilises both FCT (Flight Control Technology) and MWT (Movable Weight Technology).

First impressions of this 3 wood from Taylormade were mixed, it looks okay but does it say as much as having a big bertha in my bag? Then I had a go. I hit a whole bucket of balls all from the matt rather than off the tee. That’s the only way to really test drive a 3 wood I think. The thing I most wanted to see is if it adds 10 yards to the length of shot.
Not bad price either click here
